A European import, WearMoi was started in 1992 by a husband/wife team – both former professional dancers.
The wide waistband WearMoi comes in both a 3” or 5″ “soft touch” uncovered elastic full circumference waistband and a stretchable thong. The 5” is best for partnering and performance. Its waistband provides lumbar support and hides any extra poundage that might show under a short tunic. The 5” model is somewhat difficult to find: not sold by several online retailers, but WearMoi’s store stocks them.
Wearing tights without a shirt and don’t want your dance belt to show? Then the WearMoi narrow waistband is a good alternative. Like its wide waist cousin, it’s designed to hide and make you look good in tights. The 1½” “full circumference waistband doesn’t provide any back support, so choose a wide waistband model if you’re doing partner lifts.
WearMoi’s pouch features a substantial foam cup middle layer that smooths out anatomical detail and provides minor impact protection.
91% cotton/9% Elastene (Spandex)
Wear Moi dance belts are sold online and through select retailers.

Dora tried several brands getting her son into his first thong: My 11 year old son was miserable when his [thankfully male] dance teacher told him, it was time to switch from a “full-seat” to a “thong” dance belt… He was in tears when he first tried one on because it was so uncomfortable. He couldn’t get through his 1.5 hour class wearing one, so he had to change back into his old dance belt half-way through. I bought him every style dance belt the site offers in hopes of finding one that would be okay… Unfortunately, there’s no “magic bullet” – you just have to get used to wearing it… After two weeks, I am happy to say my son has totally gotten used to wearing his dance belt and sometimes even forgets to take it off after class!!! [Best advice: don’t try to avoid the inevitable…Put the thong in your butt to start, because it’s gonna end up there anyway, and that way you can position it where it fits best] He wears all of the belts – none of them fit badly – but says this style is his favorite.
Lavinia Says: COMFORTABLE AND MADE PROPERLY – My two dance sons have tried many brands/style of dance belts. This is the one that met their criteria. Excellent durable and comfortable elastic, cup does not bunch and looks proper in tights. Enough padding in case of accidents. The so called thong piece is longer so it does not cause major discomfort after several hours of wearing.
