Ever wish there was there was a place online that offered something like Yelp, but for ballet summer intensive reviews? Well, we’ve got you covered! Our Summer Intensive Reviews are now live!

We remember when our kids had just turned 12 and they were finally eligible for the “real” summer intensives, not the one and two-week young dancer programs (which are fantastic by the way).

So what did we do? Well, one thing we did was ask our friends. But, the information we got from them was largely anecdotal based on the experience their kids had. Then we found Ballet Talk for Dancers and many a late night was spent digging into the reviews there. These were good, but we still found limitations. So, we decided to see if we could change things a bit.

We wanted to provide a place that people can post reviews, but with some needed additions. First, it is truly anonymous and will not be tied to any sort of user name or registration requirement. We will ask for an email address, but it’s only for us to follow-up if we have clarifying questions. All published reviews will remain anonymous.

Second, we’ve set it up in a way that allows data to be aggregated across all reviews submitted for a particular ballet summer intensive. For example, we offer users and opportunity to rate different aspects of summer programs on a scale of 1-5. This allows people to see trend lines. Reviewers can rate the quality of outings that a particular SI offered or the quality of the instruction, the safety of the surrounding area or even the quality food. Rather than having to read each review form, you’ll get a quick snapshot of what the overall group thinks of a particular program. 

And, if you want to drill down, you can also read each individual review.

Even though summer intensives for 2023 haven’t started, you can still help us pay it forward by reviewing your dancer’s programs from 2019, 2021 and 2022. Who knows – your reviews from past years, might help some dancers headed off to that same program for 2023!

We hope it will provide rich and comprehensive data to help your dancer make more informed decisions on summer programs.  And, when your dancer returns from their 2023 summer ballet intensives, be sure to come back and fill out reviews for those!
